Our aim is to help children who would not otherwise receive a formal education by sponsoring their schooling. Children are supported from kindergarten through to high school (TK to SMA).We currently support six educational projects in Java, Bali and Sumatra.
Our income is principally from private donations, Zakat, and from a collection tin at the Hatch-Barnwells' London business.
Our expenses are minimal, and visits to our projects in Indonesia are timed to coincide with business or family travel which is not paid by the fund. Our main overheads are to the Bank for international transfers and to our Accountant who is generous enough to charge a ridiculously low fee for his work on the Trust's accounts. At present everyone else in the UK and the principals in Indonesia work on an entirely voluntary basis.
We have stopped expanding in order to concentrate on all our existing projects so that we may maintain our high standards. These projects include the kindergarten in Aceh, North Sumatra, the kindergarten and primary school in Serpong, West Java, the projects in Padang, Minangkabau, West Sumatra, in Bandung, West Java, in Nganjuk, East Java and in Denpasar, Bali. This will allow us to set aside funds for the continuity of all our current charity work in Indonesia.
